In the field locality name in original language do we want the total string or just the locality name?

I had originally planned this to be a complete version of the locality name (for example, if someone wanted to put the correct chinese locality name on a mineral label). It isn't referenced into anything else so it doesn't need to be (and would probably be a mess to sort out.

Perhaps if we left it at the top level, then we could create from the heirarchy a complete locality name in the original character set (assuming all levels up to an including country name) have this text inserted.

I really don't have an opinion on this. I am sort of assuming that any matches in a locality search will also look in this field (I do know that the remove dupes looks at this field too). I could see where people could create different hierarchies for the two fields.--David Von Bargen 21:24, 30 Mar 2005 (BST)
